Why was Financially Relevant created?
This blog was created as a way to provide information in different areas of finance for those who would like to learn and grow in regards to their financial situation. For some, financial decisions come easy. For others, it doesn't. My hope is that the content in here is relevant to you and that you can find ways to apply it to your personal situation.
So many people in life are too stressed out, and for many, a large part of that stress is money . What would your life be like if financial stress wasn't something you had to deal with? In this tough economy, I realize that may be a pipe dream. However, my hope is that we could come to a place in life where we could willingly support and encourage each other to make smart financial decisions. I hope that we can understand the financial impact of the decisions we make today and how it will affect our future.
The good news is that we don't have to go through this alone. We can work together to make our financial dreams a reality. I want this site to be relevant to you. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions for future topics, please feel free to contact me.
My love for the subject of finance probably started in high school. Growing up, I rarely had a dime in my piggy bank. I had planned how I was going to spend my money even before I got it.....typically sports cards were my vice. However, when I took a money management class in high school, I began to understand some basic but very important principles about finance. I learned how much a dollar, invested wisely, can grow over time. My eyes were opened. Instead of thinking of the here and now, I started to think about how the decisions I make now will impact my financial future.
Walking out of college with degrees in Finance and Entrepreneurship, I was excited to take on the world. However, with over $30,000 in student loans, it was important to put a plan in place. In no way have I been perfect in every financial decision I've made, but my desire has always been to learn more, improve, and grow little by little. As I write this bio, I'm over eight years removed from college and I'm happy to report my school loans are gone. It's amazing how a thoughtful plan with diligent and patient execution can pay off. Financial victories get me excited for the future.
I have a wonderful wife of seven years and an energetic one-year-old son. As a father and a husband, my desire is to make smart financial decisions to build momentum for a life filled with laughs, love, and hopefully as much financial freedom as possible. I will do the best I can to provide you with information that is financially relevant along the way and together we can encourage and cheer each other on in the financial decisions we make!
